Business Leaders and Champions recognised at St Albans Chamber of Commerce Awards Gala

220 guests enjoyed a sparkling atmosphere at Club Batchwood last Thursday celebrating excellence in our Business Community. The great and the good gathered at this well-known St Albans venue where the air was full of excitement and anticipation for the 2017 St Albans Chamber Community Business Awards dinner.

The 45 finalists, took to their seats waiting for the ceremony to begin with nine awards up for grabs! The very deserving winners were announced after a 2 course dinner provided by Leon Catering under the spectacular giant feature Chandelier. The co-hosts and Chamber Directors Alastair Woodgate and Paul Rosenthal entertained the guests with some added musical performances during the evening from Leigh Casling.

The 2017 winners were:

Community Champion Award – Geoff Deans

Corporate Social Award – JPA Furniture

Green Business Award – Earthworks

New Business Award – Home Brewtique

President’s Award – Mike Gray

Restaurant Award – Dylan’s Kings Arms

Young Employee Award – Reece Paprotny

Executive Director, Lisa Bates-Wallis said ” We really enjoyed hosting another sell out event recognising the exceptional people and businesses within the district. We interview all of the finalists during the judging process so we really do get involved and make an effort to get to know those shortlisted for our awards, each year it is a very rewarding and inspiring process, meeting outstanding people who give so much to St Albans”

David Clarke, Chamber President congratulated all winners and finalists then went on to thank the award sponsors for their valued support namely: Oaklands College, University of Hertfordshire, St Michael’s Manor Hotel, JPA Furniture, Hertfordshire Business Independent, The Herts Advertiser, The Green Triangle, Rayner Essex and Radio Verulam.
