With Brexit looming causing much uncertainty for businesses throughout the country, local company Quest Joinery has defied the experts and enjoyed continued growth since the referendum result in June.
Only established in 2011, Quest Joinery specialise in the manufacture of joinery products for high-end commercial projects, exclusive residential developments as well as luxury retailers of kitchen and bathrooms. Their scope of projects range from complete specialist joinery packages for the construction industry to mass produced joinery for retailers. The last year has been the company’s most successful year yet, enabling the business to relocate earlier than forecast into a production facility in Hemel Hempstead that is over four times the size of its predecessor.
To celebrate the recent move, Quest held their opening event last Friday and welcomed guests including industry experts and local dignitaries, with MP Mike Penning on hand to cut the opening ribbon.
Penning saw potential in Quest from the very beginning and expressed his joy regarding the company’s speedy progression.
“I was delighted to attend the official opening of Quest Joinery’s new premises in Frogmore Road. I first came across Quest when I was a “Dragon” and they were a winner of Dacorum’s Den in 2012 – a Dacorum Borough Council initiative to promote start-up businesses. They have moved on a long way from there and I congratulate them on their phenomenal success. The work they do is absolutely stunning. What a great local business!”
Managing director Jeremy Theakston attributes the business’ success to the continued focus on offering excellent quality joinery with exceptional service.

Theakston is himself a local resident and is committed to creating employment opportunities and supporting local businesses.
“I believe passionately about creating jobs and generating investment in the local area and wherever possible use local businesses to supply our goods and services; it’s always been important to us to support the local economy. We plan to grow the company and stay in Hemel Hempstead as it is a hugely advantageous area to do business. In the last year alone our team numbers have increased significantly and going forward we will be looking to employ more local staff including apprentices.”
