The Institute of Directors (IoD) has announced that Rahul Garella, Senior Vice President – Head of International Pharmaceuticals, of global specialty pharmaceutical company Endo, has been appointed Chair of their IoD Hertfordshire branch.
“Rahul is committed to engaging, enabling and equipping IoD members for success. His passion and business acumen will be of great benefit to the IoD in Hertfordshire and nationwide,” said David Sales, Regional Chairman for the IoD in the East of England.
Garella has over 20 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry with broad international experience across the European, Asian and Latin American markets. In his current role as Senior Vice President, he has responsibility for Endo’s international businesses, including entities in the UK, Canada and Mexico.
Garella has been an IoD member since 2009 and feels the prestige of the institution, the location of business facilities and the opportunity to network and learn from other like-minded people is what attracted him to the IoD in the first place.
Asked what he hopes to achieve during his time as IoD Hertfordshire Chairman, Garella responded; “I feel that businesses, big and small, play a pivotal role in driving progress and many of these do so in a quiet, unassuming way! These are rapidly changing times and they present limitless opportunities! Over the next 3 years, I would like to focus on increasing the share of voice for women, create industry and knowledge networks and position the IoD as a valuable and meaningful partner to the IoD members in Hertfordshire.
