A successful window cleaning business based in the famous millionaire’s row of Sandbanks in Dorset is launching in Hertfordshire.

Kevin Snowling from Croxley Green near Watford has opened a franchise of Harvard Window Cleaning.

He spent 30 years working in an office as a manager for BT and after redundancy wanted to start an entirely new career.

The company has made its name in the expensive Dorset peninsula cleaning windows of the multi-million pounds properties.

Residents include football manager Harry Redknapp and computer millionaire Sir Peter Ogden.

Now the business is launching in the Watford area – the first franchise of what is hoped will be many.

Kevin, a father of two, said: “After I was made redundant I looked at jobs in the same area and began to realise I wanted to do something completely different.

“I looked at a franchise and spotted the opportunity to launch a window cleaning business that was already successful on the south coast.

“Ultimately I hope to take on staff and grow the business here – it’s an exciting time and I’m really looking forward to it.

“I shall be doing residential and commercial properties, cleaning the windows inside and out.

“I’ll be working throughout the whole area including places such as Moor Park, Chorleywood, Heronsgate, Loudwater and Northwood.”

Luke Rayner, who set up Harvard Window Cleaning four years ago, said: “In Sandbanks where we are based many of the properties have masses of glass because they are very modern in design.

“It really helped us develop techniques to clean these vast windows and along with an emphasis on customer service and doing a quality job the business has grown.

“I always wanted to expand through franchise operations and Kevin is the first of them.

“Obviously we want to replicate our success in Dorset which is down to our cost, expertise, reliability and customer care – and Kevin personifies our ethos.”
