Local Firm Celebrates Sweeping Success

A local business celebrated sweeping success last Friday when constituency MP the Rt Hon Grant Shapps visited to see first-hand the result of a £7,500,000 investment.

Welwyn Garden City-based Go Plant supplies operated and self-drive specialist road sweepers and refuse vehicles, and despite the site only opening its doors late January 2014, it’s already repeatedly smashed all targets.

“We launched with two vehicles on a derelict site and soon found that another more appropriate site was available to buy. Following significant investment, this refurbished site is one of the best regional service centres in Go Plant.” explained Regional Manager Andy. “We have also been able to invest in new sweepers and have a fleet of over 50 operated sweepers and a further 25 self-drive vehicles all within the last two and a half years.”

Business Development Manager Susan has been responsible for a number of key contract wins and added “We in Go Plant work hard on setting service standards in a competitive industry. We have a central service team that obtains and maintains compliance standards across the whole company that give our customers the confidence in what Go Plant offers.”

“We’re delighted that Mr Shapps visited our site”. Andy added. His visit lasted just under an hour, and after a tour of the service centre and a showcase of some of the service centre fleet – which includes some of the most advanced road sweeping vehicles available – and he was introduced to representatives from Go Plant Head Office.

Paul Langham, Managing Director, added: “It was a pleasure to meet Mr Shapps, we were delighted to introduce him to our Welwyn team and tell him more about our future plans. The Welwyn experience has been a great success and we are now working on expanding in the South West, which will give us the final piece of our national coverage plan and make Go Plant one of the few national sweeper operators in the country”.
