Team GI Event Success

On Tuesday the 11th of December, the Year 13 business students of Adeyfield School hosted a networking event for local business people. With the kind help of local companies such as Business Buzz and Hicks Chartered Accountants the Sixth Form students were able to put together a spectacular evening that was enjoyed by all.  Many students from all over the school got involved, from the choir and school pianist to media students who filmed clips for the event.

The course that these students study requires them to plan and run an event independently. They decided that they wanted to help a charity in the process, they got in contact with Michelle Law from Age UK who allowed them to support the charity. After some debate they decided that the best way to raise as much money as possible was to hold a silent auction in which guests can make a one time bid for items that have been kindly donated by generous businesses across Hertfordshire. These items included a whole bundle of signed Peter Jones merchandise, who is one of the stars of Dragons Den, a night’s stay at the luxurious Ashridge House and even a free recording session supplied by Adeyfield’s very own music department.

This brilliant evening provided the students with real business world experience and also allowed them to do there part in helping the elderly generation of Herts in their everyday lives. There was an abundance of tremendously positive feedback from the guests that attended. Team GI rose over £200 and all proceeds will be donated to Age UK.
